Today I want to share with you an incredible experience that causes me admiration and gratitude.
Discernment is a process of encountering oneself and life in Truth to which we are invited by Jesus, the Risen One, who calls us to have life in abundance.
The task of configuring our lives under the gifts that God offers us requires more than simply good intentions, those we receive through spiritual exercises and those received from the ones who teach them. For we are both under the gaze of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to fulfill the Lord’s will to live a full, happy, life as a result of His love.
For this reason and others, I wish to share with you that, amid the challenges posed by the current pandemic, we have carried out the spiritual exercises of discernment prior to entering the pre-novitiate.
It was an unprecedented experience for all of us.
The young men, who participated in the spiritual exercises lived them thoroughly. This was reflected in their participation, in their moments of prayer, in their participation in the Eucharist, in their growth within the group at the end of the day.
Following the Lord has never been as challenging for them as it is now, as they must have flipped the chip on how to do things and focus on what is important: The Lord’s call on their lives.
I appreciate your patience in reading these lines and I ask you to help us pray for Piarist vocations, for the five young people who, after having discerned their vocation in the spiritual exercises last June 2020, have entered our pre-novitiate: Adrián Jesús, Luis Javier, Justino Abdiel, Octavio, Omar. Also, for Luis Gerardo who will start with them his second year of the pre-novitiate.
If you are reading these lines, there might be an itch to find the Truth in your life. I pray for you and know that you have our support to accompany you and share with you the grace of being chosen out of pure mercy and love for an exciting mission: The Pious Schools.
