Responding to God’s call in the religious life

Each one of us received a call from God. And it is important to know how we responded to His call. I too received a call from God. He calls me to be His follower, to serve Him, and to work for the Church. I responded to His call by being a brother and trying to become a religious in the Piarist Fathers.

I have been here in Manila, International House of the Piarist Fathers since 2019. This is the first time for me to go out of my country to study in a foreign land. Now, I am a postulant in the Order. I am studying Philosophy. It is a good experience for me to study in a foreign country. And it is also a challenge to improve myself in all aspects.

In my experience, aspiring to be a religious is not easy as I thought before. In the beginning, it was difficult for me because this is my first time to stay in the community of the religious. I have many inconveniences when I arrived here but now I get accustom to everything. I have seen that to be a religious is to be always with your brothers in the community.

In my present community, we have many brothers. I love and enjoy living with my community. We are from different countries, cultures, language but bond as one in following the Lord to be a religious someday. I learned many things and got various experiences through them. We play together, study together, work together, and pray together. This is my life in my Piarist community. This is how I responded to God’s call in the religious life. Evidently, this experienced caused happiness in my life. Amen.
